Ok, so let's not worry about sick kids, piles of work on your desk, laundry and anything that is out of your control. It will all get taken care of in due time.
Our goal this week, is clean eating, weight training, and cardio time! It is the last week in month of January so let's make it great!
Gone is last weeks temptations, office birthday cake, donuts, and that yummy desserts at your husbands birthday dinner. Did you walk away? did you treat yourself to just a few bites. Remember, treating is ok... just not 24/7 of treats!
Weight training is vital, not just your cardio and eating right. Remember that for every pound of muscle you build, you can burn 30 to 50 more calories per day!! So, build 5 lbs of muscles and you could burn off 250 calories with out even trying!!!
In the first 8 weeks when I started training, I only lost 6 lbs, but, I had lost 9 inches. Five of those inches in my belly/waist!! My body fat was also down by 5%. Even now my body weight is not that low, but, the gain of muscle helps keep my fat percentage down.
Get motivated, see your vision, and just go for it!!

Clean Eating French Toast
so, the drama at my house seems never ending. Today the pre teen was sick... it's not strep, but, it's yucky... oh, and as I left the house this morning, my washer is making a horrific sound??? It would seem that the washer has now gone on the fritz!
She didn't want to eat, but, did mention french toast might be good... so being the good mom that I am, I hurried and fixed it for her.
this is the healthy clean eating version of:
French Toast.
2 slices Ezekial bread
soaked in, egg whites, skim milk, some vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon.
hot skillet... brown on each side. Drizzle with vanilla Agave nector... yum yum!
The agave nector is a natural sweetener, much healthier than pancake syrup.
And she ate every last bite!
Off to the gym, have a client to train...

It feels like Monday
Ok, so the plumber is at the house, hubby stayed home to take care of that. He also took the dog to the groomer... for those that don't know me, I am a born again dog lover... never liked dogs, swore I would never have one, but, 2 years ago, became the owner of a high maintenance maltese. She is basically a non shedding breed that is great for people with allergies. And it works for us, I am not allergic to her, and she is part of the family now.
The pre-teen went to school with a sore throat, ya , I know, bad mom... but, she hates to miss school, and it's probably just drainage. Take two advil and some zyrtec and head to school. Call me if it gets worse.
Busy, busy at the bank. It is the strangest refi boom??? Oh well, its feast or famine in the mortgage biz, it's always been that way and I assume always will.
Today's breakfast was protein pancake... my usual. Two eggs, 1/4 cup oatmeal, 1 tsb protein poweder, some flaxseed, little vanilla , whip it up and put it in a pan. Good protein and complex carb all in an easy to carry and eat pancake.
Now, with it almost time for morning snack... which is 2 oz of grilled chicken (we keep it cooked ahead of time in the fridge) and edamame (soybeans) they are quite yummy but I can only find it at Target in the frozen food section.
I love Target frozen veggies!!!

Need a professional Plumber?
So, today was a bank holiday... a day I would normally do all those things I never have time to do.
I did find time to do a few of those things, work out, pedicure, and out to lunch with my husband. However, lunch out, was only because, the plumbing in our kitchen is backed up, and we didn't want to dirty any more dishes that we can't wash!!
Now, I would like to say, that yes, we could have called a plumber, but, no, my husband was convinced he could fix it. So, he stayed home from work, and I left the house.
Spent time at the gym with my new client, figuring out the paperwork, and getting the week lined out for the other ladies I will start working out this week too.
I also had to get my workout in today and cardio. I need to make sure I don't miss any workouts in the next few weeks. March 28 will be here soon... and the plumber will be here in the morning!

15 days into the New Year!
ok, so it's half way through the new year and I need to talk about how my New Year Resolutions are going...
Well, since I haven't posted until today, that one...not so good.
I am getting ready for the first figure show of the season, it will be in Lubbock, on March 28. so, basically its hammer time for diet and working out, no room for slacking or cheating.
I hope that sharing each day what my obstacles are with my diet and weight training, it will keep me motivated and hopefully keep you motivated.
Two new clients start with next week... so in addition to my real day job, I am taking on Personal Training in the evenings and Saturday.
I am very excited about this too, good dual accountabiltiy...I need to compete in just over 2 months and I have clients watching me, to make sure I practice what I preach.
so, no more office birthday cake or Casa Torres ... it is eating clean 24/7.
I need to lose about 12 lbs to be at contest weight and about half of that comes off right before the show... I will post later more about what I eat each day and my workout schedule.
so, for now, I am off to the gym... it's my lunch hour.
