21 Day Plan

Here is the Tosca Reno, 21 Day Plan. Taken from the Oxygen Magazine, "Off the Couch" issue. Which if you don't have, go online and order the back copy!
It was also featured in the Spring 2009 issue.
This should be simple enough to stay on track... and keep you from getting hungry.
This big thing is just cutting the junk out of the meal plan and putting all the good stuff in.

I personally keep my starches early in the day, and eat mainly greens at night. Unless it is workout night, then I need my energy to work out, then I eat some starch before working out.

Strive for at least 4 hours of cardio a week, and if you can, 3 hours of weight training/resistance training. This is pretty low calorie, so, if you are used to lifting heavy, you will need to scale it back a bit.

Take your measurements, take a picture, log your foods and have fun.

I can't wait to send our success to Tosca!!

Check in with each other, ask questions, and use the Facebook page as a tool to stay motivated and help hold you accountable.

oh, and this has been reprinted without permission, so go buy the magazine!

What's in YOUR Cooler??

So, it is Sunday night... went to Central Market yesterday and Wal-Mart today, usual groceries and stuff...
Now that I have all of this food, what's next?
1.Plan
2. Cook
3. Bag it
4. Pack it
5. Eat it

Tonight we will grill chicken and bag it, so it is ready to go. Brushed with some olive oil and Mrs. Dash... also will make some pumpkin muscle muffins.

Sample of this weeks menu:

Monday

Breakfast- protein pancake--- eat em everyday and some coffee
Snack-apple and some almonds--- always keep a can of raw, unsalted almonds in my desk
Lunch- grilled chicken and sweet potato
snack- 3 muscle muffins
Dinner-grilled something, chicken, fish or steak... grilled veggies, and a salad- I limit starch to earlier in the day... not at dinner
Late Snack if needed- protein shake

LOTS of water and herbal tea!

So, to make the plan work, you have to pre-plan... so you can grab it and take it to work.
Then you have to remember to eat it :)

Tosca has some great tips on how to pack a cooler... my cooler is very strict right now... since I am trying to break some bad habits from the holidays.

I have considered teaching a cooler class... let me know if anyone is interested!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!

Testing the Blog on FACEBOOK!

I hope this works... cause I am ready to go to sleep!!!

Nothing tastes as good, as fit and healthy FEELS!

I decided to compete in an all - natural show, June 12... I have a countdown on Facebook, and as of today, it is 155 days.
I must be serious... I went to a football watching party (Texas) and did not eat one bad item.
Noshed on the carrots and celery... and drank a bottle of water.
wow... but, the cool thing is, I have one full week of eating clean behind me... and each day it gets easier. And wow, I feel good right now. I conquered, cheese dip, hot wings and even a glass of wine!!
I have come to conclusion, that you really have to replace the desire for the taste of the food, for the desire to look and be healthy! Well, let me re phrase that... replace the desire for non healthy food, and appreciate the taste of good food!

I have heard some people say, I like my abs more than chocolate...
or It may taste good now, but, then it just makes me feel bad later.
Everyone has to figure out what their motivation is and what their trigger is.

The next 155 days is not going to be easy... but, if it was easy... what would be the point??!!

Keep it clean!
